..
I was automatically appointed as the bartender when we opened up The Cafe@Lui. We based this Cafe ala Kopitiam. So the main attraction would be, and has to be.. the Kopi & Roti Bakar, of course. I'm a fan of Nescafe, but never the Kopi. So i had great pressure when preparing the brewed Kopi. Everytime!
I get critics (from the Board) that my Kopi is not thick enough. Not 'kow' enough. Too sweet. Too bitter.. and for the past 4 weeks, Kopi was on my mind even when i sleep at night. So i came up with a special way to prepare the Kopi. In my head at first, and finally present it to the Board of Directors of The Cafe@Lui and they approved my recipe. It has to be something special.. so come try my Kopi and tell me what you think. But i can assure you that my Nescafe is the best.
As for the Teh. Learned how to brew the tea leaves to get the perfect colour & taste from my sisters in-law (Kelantanese who's pro in making Teh/ Teh Beng) We even got our supply of Teh wangi all the way from Kelantan.
Same goes for our roti bakar. It was nothing special at first, then we came up with a special way (secret) to prepare it. And it became a HIT last weekend. We even had a couple who ordered seconds!! Try it for yourself the next time you come to The Cafe@Lui.
p/s: My friend's Mum asked why we named the cafe The Cafe@Lui? For those of you who never been to Hulu Langat area.. Batu 20 (is where we are located) has a river called Sungai Lui running through it.. and therefore Batu 20 is also known as Kampung Sg Lui.
Another name that was suggested was Lui's Cafe, but one of our Board members afraid that one day a Mr. Lui will claim that the Cafe is his. So our father named it The Cafe@Lui.
The waterfall, which is less than 1 km from our Cafe is located at Sungai Gabai. Before you reach Batu 20, you'll see Sungai Semangkis. These are the Sungai's just to name a few.
So "Sayangilah Sungai Kita" & minumlah Kopi di Cafe@Lui.
yours sincerely,
Sheefa
